Kathy Altidor, MS, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Gottman Method Couples Therapy trained, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Trained (Florida)

Kathy is a West Palm Beach native, of Haitian descent, and provides our client’s essential therapeutic services in English and Haitian-Creole.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University and went on to attain her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Her prior professional roles include Director of a local Food Pantry, ICU Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and successful business owner.

Kathy specializes in numerous evidence-based modalities including; Family Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT) and is certified in Prepare-Enrich. Kathy is enriching her professional skills through continued training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Kathy is currently pursing her doctorate degree in Counselor Education at Florida Atlantic University

Alexandra Franc, MS, RMFT (FL and NY)

Alexandra (Lexi) Franc received her bachelor’s from Florida State University for sociology and later completed her master’s in Marriage and family therapy from North Central University. Lexi is passionate about working with couples and has extensive training in marriage and helping a couple rewrite their story. She is also able to help families who can’t seem to “get one another” in times of distress. She helps them transition from being stuck to unstuck and reignite that connection they are yearning for. She has worked in a variety of settings such as private practice, residential for Substance abuse, and mental heath facilities. Lexi uses Emotional Focus therapy to help understand the couples she works with on a deep level. She also enjoys helping families find a healthy way to connect and break ineffective patterns. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, for trauma work. She works with individuals who are suffering from distressing feelings from life transitions, mental health disorders, relational issues, and everyday life stress. Lexi is compassionate, warm, friendly, and caring about her clients.

Jennifer Lewis, MS, RMFT (Florida)

Jennifer (Jen) Lewis earned a Master’s of Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University in 2021. She has experience working with children and adults, and continues to explore more diverse populations. She has experience using Solution-Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Bowenian therapy. She continues to do research on other techniques of therapy in order to give her clients the most beneficial care. Jen works with clients who deal with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and daily struggles. Jen primarily works with adults and couples to improve their quality of life.

 

Makeda Bostwick, MS, LCMHC (FL and NC)

In the journey to healing and self-discovery, each of us carries a unique tapestry of history, traumas, fears, and perspectives. Unbeknownst to us, our past experiences shape our views of self, others, and the world, influencing our communication, behavior, and relationships. My mission is to walk beside you, not ahead of you, on your path to healing. Together, we unravel unhelpful communication patterns, behaviors, and the impact of childhood programming. My focus is on helping you become aware of your needs and develop effective ways to communicate them. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. With 12 years of clinical experience in mental health, I have worked extensively with individuals seeking to enhance their manageability with stress/anxiety, conquer depression, boost self-confidence, establish healthy boundaries, and improve relationships I specialize in working with clients who grapple with issues related to self-worth, poor boundary setting, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and low assertiveness. Taking the first step towards change is a commendable decision, and I am here to support you on your transformative journey.

Yvone G. Ao, LCSW (Florida)

“My name is Yvone Ao, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University, and I immediately began working with severe and persistent mental illness diagnoses, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and dual-diagnosis clients. I seek to understand each client as an individual, and in their social systems, and acknowledge the importance of how a person’s culture and upbringing affect one’s coping mechanisms and perception.

I recognize that change can sometimes feel punishing, but I hope to accompany each client in their journey in recognizing that the strength to overcome any hardship has been within them all along. I understand the importance of the language we use to describe ourselves, and aim to partner with each client in revising their internal dialogue to allow for continued growth, healing, and recovery.”

Sima Alavi, Doctor of NP- Board Certified (Florida)

Sima Alavi is a Board Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in 1995, after graduating from the University of Miami and continued on to earn her masters and Doctorate degree in the field of mental health with specialization in both children and adults. Her focus is in rehabilitation, detoxification, and recovery for both inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. Through evaluation and stabilization, she targets treatment for individuals experiencing a crisis situation and those who seek the need for immediate intervention. She works independently with fellow psychiatric health practitioners to provide the best care for her patients.

Lisa Abrotsky, LMFT, EMDR trained, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and 2 trained (Florida, New York, North Carolina)

As a couple’s therapist Lisa Abrotsky integrates and explores past issues from different angles, helping couples gain insight into adjustments they may need to make in the relationship. She has worked in behavioral health, helping couples and families for the past decade. She has experience working with various populations and socioeconomic statuses in community-based behavioral health care/dependence treatment organizations. Lisa Abrotsky has a B.S. in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She has extensive education, training, and experience in the field of dependence. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, certified Parenting Instructor and a Batterers Intervention Facilitator with the state of Florida. As a family therapist, she is able to integrate her knowledge of education and mental health issues to help families’ problem-solve, overcome personal issues, and create lasting change for a better tomorrow. She uses a holistic approach where healing of the mind, body, and spirit is a priority for successful treatment.

Jodi Katz, LMSW NY & NJ, MSW RCSWI FL (Florida, New York)

Jodi has been a MSW for two decades and have diversified her practice with multiple modalities. She has been practicing in the Tristate Area’s and Florida. She works well with families children adolescence, couples, and elderly.  Her specialty are supporting areas such as social and emotional balance and development sense of self. Jodi speciality is Children and adolescents with behavioral and mood issues. Jodi enjoys incorporating the creative outlets of art and writing into the therapeutic process whenever a client is interested in doing so. Jodi believes that change happens when people are given the support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, happy lives.

Reeva Morton, Ph.D., BCBA-D, NCSP (FL)

Reeva Morton is a doctoral level licensed school psychologist and board-certified behavior analyst in the state of Florida. She graduated from West Virginia University with a major in Psychology. While in WVU’s undergraduate program, she spent her time in the Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) lab. For graduate school, Dr. Reeva attended Mississippi State University’s school psychology doctoral program. More recently, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida. Her clinical interests include early childhood disruptive behavior, parenting interventions, neurodivergent populations (e.g., Autism and Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder) and the dissemination of effective interventions to high needs and/or racial/ethnic minority communities. Dr. Reeva enjoys supporting families and young children while they navigate challenges in their day to day life.

Ariel Crosby, M.S, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (Florida)

My name is Ariel, and I am a dedicated and compassionate registered mental health counseling intern with a special focus on working with adolescents. As a Hispanic counselor, I bring a unique cultural perspective to my practice and strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for all my clients. I am bilingual and am able to provide counseling services in both English and Spanish, making my services accessible to a diverse population. I value the importance of cultural sensitivity and tailor my approach to meet the individual needs of each client.

With a warm and empathetic approach, I build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients, helping them feel heard, understood, and supported. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to address anxiety and other mental health concerns, supporting my clients on their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth. I am committed to helping my clients live their best lives and reach their full potential.

Passionate about mental health and wellness, I create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to express their thoughts and emotions. I believe in the power of therapy to promote healing, increase self-awareness, and improve overall well-being.

Outside of work, I cherish my role as a mother and wife, finding joy in nurturing my family’s well-being. We love spending quality time together, whether swimming or exploring the outdoors, diving into books, playing games, or simply relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.

Yasmyne Salhia, MS, RMHCI (Florida)

Yasmyne is a highly qualified Mental Health Counselor specializing in Trauma, Crisis & Dependency. With a Master’s degree and an ongoing pursuit of a Ph.D. in Counseling, she brings extensive clinical experience in the field. Yasmyne has worked with diverse populations, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and dependency. Her holistic approach incorporates modalities such as AEDP, IFS, AAT, trauma-informed therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices. Yasmyne holds certifications as a Trauma Professional and in Mental Health First Aid and has had additional training in Play Therapy, Gottman Therapy Informed, Assisted Animal Therapy, IFS Informed, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and continues to explore other modalities to support her clients.

Sharon Morera, M.S. RMHC (FL)

Sharon is a dedicated mental health professional who graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and from Lynn University with a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. With extensive experience in both residential and outpatient mental health and substance abuse facilities, Sharon has had the opportunity to work with individuals facing PTSD, substance use disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, and various personality disorders. Sharon is extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and specializes in working with trauma, utilizing a trauma-informed lens in her practice. She also has a strong focus on Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and depressive disorders. Believing in the power of a person-centered approach, Sharon emphasizes empathy and highlights the strengths of her clients. She is committed to practicing from a multicultural perspective, accommodating each individual’s unique worldview, identity, and culture. Sharon’s holistic approach to therapy ensures that her clients receive compassionate, tailored care that supports their journey towards healing and growth.

Gila Kolodny, LSP, RMHCI (FL)

Gila Kolodny is a Florida Licensed School Psychologist and a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. She attended Touro College in New York City for her training and received a Masters degree in School Psychology and a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. Gila has over 15 years of experience working in schools and clinical settings. She believes in a collaborative approach when working with children in order to create their unique path to success. Gila conducts psychoeducational evaluations in order to diagnose Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Gifted abilities. These evaluations are comprehensive and aimed at identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to create individualized paths to achieving academic success. She also works closely with children and adults in a therapeutic setting by strengthening their skills and empowering them to maximize their own personal growth.

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
