Lisa Abrotsky, LMFT, EMDR trained, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and 2 trained (Florida, New York, North Carolina, Connecticut)

As a couple’s therapist Lisa Abrotsky integrates and explores past issues from different angles, helping couples gain insight into adjustments they may need to make in the relationship. She has worked in behavioral health, helping couples and families for the past decade. She has experience working with various populations and socioeconomic statuses in community-based behavioral health care/dependence treatment organizations. Lisa Abrotsky has a B.S. in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She has extensive education, training, and experience in the field of dependence. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, certified Parenting Instructor and a Batterers Intervention Facilitator with the state of Florida. As a family therapist, she is able to integrate her knowledge of education and mental health issues to help families’ problem-solve, overcome personal issues, and create lasting change for a better tomorrow. She uses a holistic approach where healing of the mind, body, and spirit is a priority for successful treatment.

Erskine Alexander, MS, LMSW (Connecticut)

Erskine Alexander is a native of Columbus, Georgia. Erskine graduated from Carver High School and attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. Erskine graduated from Morris Brown College, his notable achievements include interning at the South Atlanta Psychological Health Center for Children and Adolescents suffering from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and various behavioral disorders.

After, graduating from Morris Brown College, Erskine was accepted into the prestigious Columbia University School of Social Work Masters Program in New York City. He worked with young adults and adolescents being released from New York’s Rikers Island Correctional Facility. While interning he was able to attend the trial for Mr. Sean “Diddy” Combs and meet the actress Rosie Perez from the movie “White Men Can’t Jump and Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing”. Erskine wrote a grant concerning the needs and challenges of at-risk youth in New York City in which the grant was accepted by Ms. Perez resulting in her becoming a partner for F.O.I.A.

After graduating from Columbia University in 2001, Erskine was offered a position to work in the Department of Psychiatry at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, New York as a Clinical Care manager working with clients with alcohol and substance abuse problems. He supports with Healthy Marriage Program where he works with couples in ways to prevent harmful fights, stay close, manage stress, have fun and play, and compromise in the relationship. Erskine also runs behavioral groups and individual therapy sessions for teenagers and adults at risk in the Bronx, New York and Connecticut

EMDR or couples session may require a longer session (1.5 hours). Please contact us for the providers in the group that offer a sliding scale to meet your financial needs.

Payment

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours before. Otherwise, you are subject to be charged for the full rate of the session.

Privacy Policy

Any information collected from a user of new-reflections-counseling.com will only be used for the sole purpose of replying to inquiries. New Reflections Counseling, Inc. will never sell your information to a 3rd party.

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
